How to prepare for Foles’ return
- by admin
Foles was taken off the field after three games and the Eagles went on to lose the NFC Championship Game, 28-13.
He was eventually diagnosed with an MCL sprain, which he was unable to rehab, and he missed a month.
The Eagles lost two games in a row and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Foles would miss the start of training camp, but he would return to the team for “a couple weeks.”
Kelly said he had no hard feelings toward Foles, but that he would miss Foles out for the next three games.
“He’s not the same,” Kelly said.
“I know the family of him and his wife, and they have to deal with the injuries they have.
It’s a huge pain.
It was a lot for me.
I know he’s not in the best of shape, but I understand that.
We’re not going to be in the playoffs if he’s out there playing. “
But for the rest of the team, I can’t have him go out there and miss the next couple weeks.
We’re not going to be in the playoffs if he’s out there playing.
We’ve got to have him back.”
Foles is expected to miss the first six weeks of training Camp.
The quarterback will be in full pads in those three games before the Eagles will be able to see if he can play again.
The first preseason game, against the Washington Redskins, will be the first of the preseason.
